Everything you need to know

No. As long as you're enrolled, you can attend any available session that fits your week. We keep things flexible on purpose. Life is busy, and we get that.
Your first class is completely free and there's nothing to sign or commit to. Book online and we'll have everything sorted for you when you arrive.
Nothing at all for your trial. Wear comfortable clothing you can move in. Shorts and a t-shirt are perfect. We'll provide everything else you need.
No contracts, ever. Membership is fortnightly and you can pause or cancel with just 7 days' notice. No fine print, no cancellation fees, no hassle.
Absolutely. Most people start with us completely unfit. That's exactly what training is for. Our classes are structured so beginners develop at their own pace alongside more experienced students.
No. Your fortnightly membership covers all regular classes. You'll eventually need a gi (uniform) as you progress, but this isn't required for your trial period or early training.
Yes. Talk to Shihan Mark before class and we'll modify training to work around any limitations you have. We want you training safely and sustainably for the long term.
The Adults program is open to teenagers and adults. If you're enquiring for a child, visit our Kids Program page. Children can start from 4.5 years old.
No. Safety is built into everything we do. We work with you and meet you where you're at. If you have any injuries or limitations, let us know and we'll adjust the class to suit you. Techniques are taught progressively so you learn how to apply and receive them with control. The culture here is built on respect, not ego.
Yes, sometimes, and it's completely up to you whether you want to participate. The level of contact is always your call. We work with everyone, especially beginners. We know sparring can feel intimidating, so you're never going to be forced into it. When you're ready, you'll work with partners you're comfortable with in a controlled, supervised environment.
Every class starts with a structured warm-up, then moves into ukemi (learning how to fall safely, a core part of Ju Jitsu). From there, Shihan Mark teaches specific techniques for the session. You'll drill them with a partner, and these could include anything from throws, takedowns, locks, grapples, and more. Towards the end of the session, there's usually a chance to test your skills through ground fighting or light sparring with a partner you're comfortable with. You never have to do anything you're not ready for. The whole experience is challenging but always supportive.
